It is here. I see a few of them on the road every year in the summer for our citywide car show known as "Hot August Nights". Though attaching a real .30 Browning machine gun even without a firing pin, I'm not so sure about.

Anyways between "Street Vibrations" (motorcycles) and "Hot August Nights" (hot rods) the police are likely to look the other way. Unless you show up wearing MC colors. Whereupon you'll be asked to leave the city limits.

Normally, but you never know what HAN draws. I think the same terms apply for the same reasons after Hells Angels and the Vagos went at it in the Nugget. But yeah, colors are far more likely to be an issue for Street Vibrations, a motorcycle event.

The two police departments at times are not necessarily on the same page about such things. I know two cops personally that will ask "one percenters" in colors to take a hike if they even see them at either event. Go figure.

I think machine guns were outlawed in the 60s. My dad had to take his apart and throw away a piece each trash day.
He was paranoid I guess. Too bad, it was a machine gun he assembled from a gun factory that was bombed during WWII. Then he sent each piece to his mom while he was overseas.
Why would machine guns be illegal but notassault weapons? Aren’t they the same thing? I don’t know, my dad would know :(

Depends on what state and which laws apply. Though assault weapons for civilian use are inherently designed to be semi-automatic. Though it's also no secret they can be altered, such as using the now-illegal bump stock. With some states having so many rules and regulations they effectively work as a ban against assault weapons.

OTOH, machine guns are designed for military and law enforcement use that generally default to being fully automatic. Legally acquiring and possessing a machine gun as a private citizen is quite a bit more complex in comparison.

But actually driving around town with one like that...hmmmm. Even if the firing pin is removed as allegedly explained I'm not sure how the ATF would feel about that, let alone local police departments. Let's just say I wouldn't want to put that to a test. It wouldn't surprise me if the gun is removed from its mounting when the car is in motion. Across town there was also a miltary Jeep display with real machine guns. Probably the same conditions applied, where none of the weapons had firing pins.
