What will DSM 6 decide?

Sorry to tell you the bad news but economics and politics are inescapably wrapped up in humanity.

Of course. Politics being the lowest form of human behavior.

Many of us seem to be pretty aware of what drives the DSM-V. However it doesn't preclude us from wanting or seeking something better in our own interest rather than merely that based on political agendas.

Our society reduced poverty by stripping the third world of its resources and leaving those people in dire conditions. There are still millions around the world who do not have access to clean water or healthcare.

Yes I am very much aware of all that. However, you don't include that rich countries take those resources to make goods and services. For example, an American company buys oil from Saudi Arabia and makes cars to sell to other people. More importantly, would be American innovations in medicine, science and technology. With the important exception of CO2, most of the pollution in the world comes from desperately poor countries that can't afford a clean environment.

Again if you look at the article and do some research into absolute poverty you will notice a remarkable drop in absolute poverty among Asian countries that have adopted some form of free market economics. Often the economic development is unequal but even the poorest people become better off.

Is your problem with the misery created by poverty or inequality?

As i understand it in the uk, Aspergers still exists and it's under ASD in the ICD , International Classification of Diseases, which all doctors use for diagnosing, including those things that are not diseases. The DCM being an American thing is a guide I think.
