What was the last movie you watched?

Nicolas Cage's Color Out of Space (2019), which is probably the best adaptation of the Lovecraft's story of same name I have seen.

I know that there are movies from 1965 (Die, monster, die), 1987 (The Curse), and 2008 (Colour from the Dark) which I (think) have all seen, but Wikipedia gave me a surprise that Stephen King's The Tommyknockers was also affected by the original story. I don't myself see the resemblance.

A creepy picture of radiation sickness before the phenomenon was even known properly.

Kind of ironic considering Lovecraft only had a basic understanding of Maths and Science, based on what I've read - which included a lack of understanding of non-visible light.
Despite this, his story Color Out of Space - as you pointed out - still managed to create a creepy picture of radiation sickness before it was properly known, but wrapped in a more otherworldly sci-fi story.

Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3 (2023) Hulu

Well, the United Federation of Planets is not amused. On the bright side though, Groot used to be a potted plant. Since then he's branched out into being a real badass.

I'm not. Another talented actor with range who is "hedging their bets" doing tv commercials when risking the ever-present possibility of being typecast exclusively within the genre of science fiction.

It's an ugly practice, and it's often beyond the ability of many (but not all) actors to overcome it if and when it happens. :(

Last movie I watched was Farrelly-brothers' Dear Santa starring Jack Black. I have rather mainstream taste as I find IMDb's ratings generally a good indicator if I like movie or not. I should have believed the rating of 5.4, and people saying that the ending sucks... But the movie started with a good premise, it was just that the ending twist didn't work.

Hmm... What I liked with Farrellys' movies (There's something about Mary, as the most famous one) is that they have always bordered bad taste by having fun of disabilities, mental issues etc. but not laughing at the people, but instead laughing with them. They don't laugh at disabilities, but at the prejudical attitudes towards disabilities. I don't remember if I have ever felt them being nasty towards the underdogs, or anyone other than purely despicable intolerant people. They were a huge improvement to typical 80s comedy flicks, that were usually just plain evil by promoting bullying as a comeback (honestly, I can't really approve Steve Guttenberg's practical jokes in Police Academy -movies, as they are nothing but bullying the bullies in an improportional degree).

The world is not enough
Yes yes, I know and agree. But what movie you saw? 😁

Jokes asides... I have myself grown tired to Bond-movies, because they rotate them quarterly in our public television. I would have never believed that I start to get bored with Craig's Casino Royale and Skyfall, but enough is enough 😟
