What song are you listening to right now?

I'm listening to this brilliant and beautiful bit of satire by John Hiatt. I've been listening to this album for 39 years, it's a true classic!

In case the premise doesn't leap out at you, it's about a couple who receive that typical junk mail letters addressed to something generic like "To the occupiers" or "To the Permanent Dwellers" "YOU MAY ALREADY BE A WINNER!". But in this case the recipients are literally called Mr and Mrs "Permanent Dweller". So funny and sweet, it's put a much needed smile on my face today! :)

This used to make me and my sister's laugh like drains when we were kids. I know I posted it in another thread recently, but it's so bonkers, I don't think you can listen to it without at least grinning a bit :-)

Love is tragic, love is bold
You will always do what you were told
Love is hard, love is strong
You will never say that you were wrong
I don't when I got bitter, but love is surely better when it's gone
Cause you wanted more
More than I could give
More than I could handle
And a life that I can't live
You wanted more
More than I could bear
More than I could offer
For a love that isn't there
Love is colour, love is loud
Love is never saying you're too proud
Love is trusting, love is honest
Love is not a hand to hold you down
I don't know when I got bitter, but love is surely better when it's gone
Cause you wanted more
More than I could give
More than I could handle
And a life that I can't live
You wanted more
More than I could bear
More than I could offer
For a love that isn't there
I gotta pick me up when I am down
I gotta get my feet back on the ground
I gotta pick me up when I am down
I don't know when I got bitter, but love is surely better when it's gone
Cause you wanted more
More than I could give
More than I could handle
And a life that I can't live
You wanted more
More than I could bear
More than I could offer
For a love that isn't there
You wanted more
More than I could love
More than I could offer
The harder you would shove
You wanted more
More than I could give
More than I could handle
And a life that I can't live
