What kind of music do you feel identify with, or at least you like the most?

Punk rock, riot grrrl, emo, metal and hardcore. They are what i'm most passionate about, I live for underground music, zines and DIY culture.

In contrast to that I also really like electronic music- glitch hop, chiptune, bit-pop, chillstep, synth pop, drum n bass etc. I was also into dubstep for a while before it started to suck.

Dubstep has been tarnished a bit in the past almost 10 it's a genre. Much like a plethora of metal subgenres, there's a lot of variation in the style and sound, even if the basic elements remain the same.

I've gotten my first share of dubstep back in 2007 or so after hearing Skream, which was, like most dubstep at the time a more mellow style. But eventually, 5 years later, the mellow went out and the wobblebass started sounding like Soundwave (from Transformers fame) making love to himself through a megaphone while on LSD. Not that there's somethin inherently wrong with it, but I suppose, much like when something like death metal spawned new subgenres, dubstep did the same, as it's own little niche. What might be a bit troublesome is that the newer generation of fans fail to see the roots of the genre quite often and stick to Skrillex and consider that the archetype of dubstep. Skrillex is fine and tolerable, just like all these other harsher dubstep acts that leave the mellow out, but as with other styles, dismissing anything not "up to 11" is a bit sad. (and I'm saying this as someone who enjoys metal, but doesn't have a lot of interest for the big names from the late 70s and early 80s that were big influences for metal to become what it is now; but at least I can give it a place and understand it's relevance)

It's hard for me to name specific genres I like. If I find a song I like, I don't even think about its genre, only that I like it.
Although I do have a particular fondness for easy listening instrumentals and anime soundtracks.

Aussie hip hop/rap. Seth Sentry's second album is my go-to, 360's Falling and Flying (dunno about the name), anything by Hilltop Hoods, Bliss n Eso up LOUD, Skryptcha is good road trip music, Diafrix for summer, Allday for work. Serious moments warrant Horrorshow. I also don't mind David Dallas from NZ.

I do love classical, but loathe waltzes, particularly Germanic. I adore Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers. A wide range, but I abhor techno-dance festival music, One Direction/Taylor Swift pop. Bleugh.

Very specifically metal. I love extreme metal, especially black metal. I'm an intense person & I like the intensity.
