What is Your Pet Doing Right Now?

He jumps on the bed and reaches under the covers, with one claw gently jabs me in the butt. Time for the human to get breakfast put out for the cat.

Not my pet but stilll

Flushing:

Those are real mallards btw… wish I had gotten a video of him flushing them out of the pond but wasn’t quick enough… seeing him freeze while they all took off into the air whistling was something I hope to witness again and capture on film.

On the retrieve and handoff to master:

He is a really finicky retriever… he will not pick up anything that doesn’t look or smell like actual dead fowl. I had to get some pheasant scented stuff from my friend because he was ignoring the decoys. Don’t ever sniff a bottle of that btw

Should also mention:
You all probably noticed that I have him on a check cord… it’s not because he won’t come back. He comes back. It’s because he broke his hip several months ago and he runs hard and DOES NOT STOP. So if I want him to *stop* hunting or slow down, I have to reel him in. Lol

Impressive point and retrieve in the snow.

We are experiencing *blizzard-like conditions* here… it’s almost March and it looks like Christmas
Last week it was 60 degrees. Now there’s a huge winter storm. I can’t win o_O

Nice to see a domesticated and docile rabbit. Here most of them are quite wild...right out behind my apartment building. Probably wouldn't make for a very good pet!

Here's one from a few summers back:

Very common Desert Cottontail rabbit. Photo shot from my living room.

Very common Desert Cottontail rabbit.

Is that what’s referred to as a jackrabbit?
The rabbits here look very different.
This one was in my backyard last year.

I always feel sad when i see a rabbit in a house knowing its probably!come from horrendous suffering and should be living free with a group of rabbits

The one in my picture was wild… somehow got in under the fence when it was being built I think.

Oh, ok. Thanks for clarifying :)
I feel like I should know that lol but apparently I didn’t
What we have around here are Eastern cottontails. Like the stereotype “Easter rabbits.” Lol

Here's the other species of rabbit that is fairly common here:

Much shorter, smaller ears and body...
