What I did today

Masked Man

The things that didn't kill me made me stranger

I attempted to make sugar cookies today using royal icing. I've never done it before so it looks a bit messy and my colors could have been brighter. Thought I would post a photo of my cookies so you all can see. Still, not bad for a first attempt. I have to take these into work tomorrow. I hope people like them.

Did you make the dough?
Or use a cookie roll (ready made dough from store)?

I made the dough last weekend. I let it sit overnight and then cut them out and baked them. They've been in the freezer since last weekend.

Gingerbread house making is fun.
Doesn't have to be big.

You could practice technique first by
using graham crackers....

That's true. The plan I have isn't a big house. It's pretty small. But it's all the icing that it would require to hold it together and decorate it.

Not to mention I have no idea where I'd put it lol!

I had a gingerbread house in the back room one year
and was not at all happy that a possum had opened
the back door and come in to gnaw on the house.

When I was a child I made sugar cube houses with
frosting for mortar.

And I have made various sized gingerbread houses.

No idea where you'd put a gingerbread house?
If it were only 3 by 3 inches, and you eat at a table,
seems like it would fit in about as much space as a
saucer.

If anybody still uses saucers for cups and the whole
cup/saucer thing hasn't been replaced with take out
or mugs.

If I didn't have a cat I would leave it out by the tree. But the cat will try to eat it - he eats anything.
