What do I reclass my characters as in FFV?

So I finished the wind temple and got the ability to reclass. Which classes should I make the party?

Wow, there's a game that's not heard of very often. I'd not be surprised if nobody else on the forum has played it... it was not a widespread game at all, unlike 2 and 6.

Best thing to do is probably to look on GameFAQs, see a guide or two on there. Any guide is going to give advice on what to reclass.

I'd offer advice myself, but my memory is so awful I'm not actually sure if I've played it or not, and even if I did, I'd probably remember half of it wrong.

FFV is one of my faves in the series! Which version are you playing? I've played the PS and GBA versions, but I don't know how they compare with any other versions.

Anyways, you may want to check their stats to see where their strengths are. I think I made Reina a White Mage, Faris a Black Mage, Bartz a Monk, and Galuf a Knight, but it's been rather a while since I've played. My idea was a balanced party, capable of offense and defence, and building up the skills I may want later. Maybe I made Bartz a thief, so I could get the Find Hidden Passages ability...

I kind of want to replay it now...

I'm playing a patched version of the GBA version that fixes the sound and FPS. Also I'm thinking about making everyone a monk since unarmed combat is OP early game. Is this true?

Afraid I don't know about that... you can try it (it certainly saves money not having to buy weapons), but I never have, and don't really know technical stuff like that.

My plan would have been to get started on learning abilities so I can get some good combinations later on, like a Knight with White Magic: they can't heal for much, but he'll be able to take a few hits while he revives the others.

Ok I did:

Bartz = Knight

Lenna = Blue Mage

Galuf = Monk (Will switch to thief after getting certain skills)

Faris = Black Mage

I guess I forgot Blue Mages were available so early. They have a good balance of physical and magical strength, similar to Red Mages. But you may want to look at a guide to see where to get all the Enemy Skills. I believe the passive ability Learn can be equipped to any other job, so you can keep learning abilities as you come across them, while levelling up other jobs.
