What are you looking forward to?

I am not sure if such a thread exists already, if it does feel free to delete.

It is exactly what it says on the tin! Is there something exciting in the near future that you are looking forward to? A trip to somewhere, a new show or video game coming out, or a plan with friends?

Me, i am looking forward to watch new cdramas i can get obsessed with, and going to the dance performance about Katsushika Hokusai's life this weekend! (Hopefully i will be able to attend though since its free it will probably be so crowded.)

Honestly? Nothing at the moment. I might try to take a trip in March to Morocco but it's not scheduled yet. And I'm going to have to decide if it's something I really want to do, because while I enjoy seeing other places and I enjoy the experiences - what I do not enjoy is the actual travel. So it's something I really have to gear myself up for and then have lots of medication for the air trip. Once I'm there, it's fine.

And then there's the coming back part, because my work backs up and I have to rush to catch it up. It makes me wonder if it's worth it, but then again, I ask myself if I want to work my whole life and do nothing but work and only work, and that answer is no. So yeah...

I hope you do make it to Morocco. I have taken two quite interesting tours there with Geo World Travel, roaming the Anti-Atlas to learn about its geology and paleontology. Highlights; the ground zero for Trilobites around Alnif; visiting the amazing Fezouata Shale; Devonian carbonate mounds in the Kes Kes around an ancient volcanic caldera; traveling into the Sahara and finding fulgurites in the Erg Chebbi; visiting the Kem Kem where Spinosaurs are found and negotiating with miners for Spinosaurus teeth; seeing the beautiful vanadanite crystals coming out of the old Filon mine; the Ksar Ait Ben Haddou; and much much more. Some of the accommodations were pretty rough, like at the Mherch Oasis, an old stop on the Paris to Dakkar rally; but the food we had was all good. I liked extra days in Marrakech, enjoying the Souks around the Jemaa el-Fnaa square as well as the Bahia Palace where I saw architecture that was mirrored in the Alhambra.
Here is one of the trilobites that I picked up, a Quadrops.

Wow, I didn't know until now about the fossil trade but, again, wow!

I've had Morocco on my "bucket list" for quite a while now. I had a relative who did a stint in the Peace Corps when he was much younger and gave me some post cards of camels and the Sahara. It stuck with me and I've been wanting to go and see it for myself.

And the food is another draw. It's one thing to get Moroccan food here at a restaurant run by folks who are from there. It's entirely different to actually BE there and be able to eat it from the locals.

And I just realized what your profile picture is! LOL so now I know :)

I hope you get to go! The last trip I treated my 27 year old niece to it. She has always been adventurous and an adventurous eater but her parents never had the money for such a trip. She loved the spicy Harissa and all the Tagines and had a good eye for fossils. Concentrating on geology we saw Morocco as few people do. Here is a nice Cephalopod (Goniatite) fossil that she found.

I feel I don’t have a lot at the moment but there are a few things - getting more art supplies like a palette knife, next set of the Sailor Moon manga collection next month, birthday next month mostly for chocolate cake with coffee frosting (as opposed to the usual vanilla with reeses pieces), don’t mind handing out candy on Halloween here with how quiet it generally is compared to past neighborhoods I’ve lived in. Not really feeling like playing any new games right now which is kind of making me lethargic but realizing I could take some time to watch one of my animes, maybe get back to where I was in Dirty Pair or try Black Lagoon, Fist of the North Star. I think mostly I want to work on my next game project but just not feeling like I’ve got all the parts in my head yet.

I am very excited about my upcoming plans for next spring. Switzerland for canoeing and hiking and delicious food, and time with my Swiss friend, then to London for a concert, a visit to Kew Royal Botanical Gardens and canoeing on the Thames. Then to Paris for another concert, out to stay at Mont St. Michele, and then canoe the Gardon River and under the Pont du Gard, a relic of the Roman aquaduct. Then back to Switzerland.

Traveling is really great! I have seen a lot of amazing photos of Morocco also, it is def. a place i want to visit. The architecture is so beautiful.

Other than that, i am looking forward to traveling to Japan again with my friend from Japanese class.

And as for smaller things, i am looking forward to coffee!

Seeing a place with geology eyes is great. The sound of all the fossils and rock specimens would be exciting for me too @Gerald Wilgus . And yes, the food and architecture of Morocco. It is they type of place I would like to see, but no way able now.

I am looking forward to the day my house companion finally moves into the new place he leased last year. It is taking him forever to let go of all the stuff he has accumulated over the years.
It is a small villa with nothing but woods behind it and a small lake. Deer, lynx and all types of animals come out of the woods in the evening. I'm ready to go anytime, but it is a huge downsize for him and I don't think he really wants to downsize.
We live in a large house now, but something smaller is needed since we both have health problems. Easier to take care of.

The change would do me good. :)

Looking forward to visiting a Mens shed, volunteering with a wildlife sustainability project and volunteering at a better charity shop.

You have no idea just how much this makes me admire you. And also jealous. It's frustrating to be fluent in French and not get to use it where it is most properly used.

I'm looking forward to winter hiking. Currently purchasing the last of the survival items needed as I know I'm all to capable of getting myself into a pickle. (Gormless is the word of choic here.)

Despite the downsizing it sounds lovely. Being in tough with nature centers me. Best wishes to you. I think that anytime we can engage with nature, whether geology or just watching the life around you, are profoundly healing (psychologically) moments.

This might sound weird but i am looking forward to getting fired and getting into a bigger company now.

I am being targeted by my boss but i feel like quitting without making preparations is irresponsible. If i get fired i would not feel guilty and would get rid of the stress my boss causes.

I am not fluent. I can barely get by, even with scads of classes over a lifetime. I’ll put you on speed dial when I need help. ;)
