Weighted Plush

Does anyone else here have any weighted plush? How much do they weigh? What do you think of your weighted plush? Does it help to relax you? If so, what does that relaxation feel like? Do you believe there's a reason behind this, aside from weighted therapy products supposedly being helpful for autistic individuals?

I have two weighted plush currently. One is a frog, one is a dinosaur. The dinosaur is 3 lbs, supposedly, but it feels more like 2 lbs. The frog is 3 lbs, and definitely feels 3 lbs. I personally love my weighted plush! I find them very comforting to stroke and hug. They do help relax me, especially the frog, which I believe is due to it's heavier-feeling weight. The relaxation feels cozy, loving, and comforting. It feels like I'm hugging a real animal, but better. I believe the reason for my relaxation is due to (yes, weighted things helping autistic individuals) the feeling of them being "real" to me. It gets a bit complicated, I suppose.

i dont have weighted plushes/teddies as such apart from one white label steiff bear [white label means the bear is rare if you dont know steiff] ,but i have a huge collection of special and non special bears and i like to hug some of them, i have a sensory bear that has different textures all over it in different patches and i love having a bear hug,it does give me some sensory input,i see it as an object-i see everything as objects including humans,i dont apply emotion to anything i dont think,i have a slightly different reaction to animals though,i love them to bits and would fight people who hurt them.sorry for waffling about a different subject there.

This intrigues me. I have had such good results from my weighted blanket that I might check these out.

My 7 year old Aspie granddaughter has a weighted blanket, several weighted stuffed animals and a weighted vest. She wears her vest to school, always sleeps under her blanket and seems to favor her weighted animals.
