Virtual Fireplaces - Fireplaces through your TV...

I live in an apartment and love the open fire YouTube, my favourite are camp fires. I also like videos of nature and rivers, and will put them on in the background while I do other things. Not the same as the real thing, but still nice and peaceful

I am not sure what a face cord of wood is, probably quite a lot?

Actually, it's less then a cord. A face cord of wood is 4 feet high x 8 feet wide x 16 inches deep as appose to a normal cord of 4' x 8' x 4', which is 3 times more wood. So a face cord is 1/3 the size of a normal cord.

I usually have nature scenes changing on the TV while I do housework.
Ambient music goes with it.
I watched one of the fireplace scenes while waiting in a doctor's office last week.
It did bring back memories of when I lived in a colder climate and had the real thing.
It was rather comforting, but, bittersweet as those days were good but gone forever.
In Florida artificial fireplaces that look like fire and do put out a little heat like an electric heater is in a lot of the houses including mine.

Have a gas fireplace I can turn on with the flip of a switch which I love. My cat LOVES to lie in front of it and if it didn't have glass doors I'd be afraid she'd actually try to walk inside. Right now have no gas though- wish I did but don't have the $300 lying around to order it.

It's all or nothing with me.

Either give me the crackling, burning fuel and associated chores, sights, sounds and smells,

or don't bother.

I prefer a well written drama beamed through my tv.
(not fires, fish tanks and microwaves)

Prior to reading this thread, I didn't even know there were TV channels showing fires!!

Or fish tanks and microwaves @Gracey. Whatever next?!

I live a sheltered life, haha.

My TV is for watching TV programmes and my fires keep me and the cats lovely and warm :D

Since it's that time of year again, I'll post some more virtual fireplaces for those who are interested - although be aware that a lot of them have instrumental Christmas music 'attached':

(This one has a lot of Christmas songs 'attached' - not just instrumental)
