Photo captures heartwarming moment of firefighter comforting young girl with autism

This happened in Wheatland, California, a small town maybe 40 miles NE of Sacramento. This little girl was recently dx with autism and when her mom learned that firefighters from Wheatland FD would be at her preschool teaching fire safety mom was nervous but hoped her kid would be ok. Inevitably, the girl started to have a meltdown, and one of the firemen realized what was happening since one of his family members has it too, so he hugged her until she calmed down. It wasn't until mom saw the pic on Facebook that she realized that her daughter had a problem with the presentation.

This sort of disability porn article makes me cringe. Why is this news? Glad it turned out well but being hugged could well have upset the child more, a really firefighter being kind to a child shouldn't be news worthy. And they uploaded the pic without the mums consent?
