V.I.P. ban

BIMOG

Noivilbo Kees I : Я ищу забвение
Just out of idle curiosity, if someone had paid their $35 for a V.I.P. lifetime membership but then managed to get banned, barred or whatever permanently from the site, would they get a refund?

No, I don't think so. When I did sign up, it was just to get rid of ads, but nothing was said about refunds.

My understanding is that one might get banned from a thread, but banning from the site is pretty extreme and extremely rare. People tend to leave of their own accord before it gets that far.

I think, that if you manage to get banned here, VIP or not, you're most likely to take blame for it yourself. As a staffer I can state that bannings are not something we consider to do for the heck of it. As a team of moderators we do discuss if someone needs to be banned either from the forum or a single thread because he/she might be disruptive there.

As it is, I'm not aware there's any policy that Aspiescentral is obligated to refund a lifetime VIP subscription. But I don't make the rules, nor do I own this forum, for that matter Brent is the one to talk to.

But I think as a general rule when it comes to banning, and even more if you worry being banned but have spent some money to keep this forum up and running by means of a VIP membership, is to keep in mind something along the lines of "don't be a dick".

And yes, I can fully understand we can't all get along all the time... but I guess a certain sense of self-control at times can be in order to make yourself scarce from arguments that could end in staff taking action.

As far as I'm aware, there's no refund policy on VIP memberships in case of a forumban.
