Trouble connecting with my family

Sometimes I sense myself drifting away from my loved ones. I don't know why it happens it just does. They love me so much, I'm so lucky but I can't always return that love. I tend to give more love to my dogs as I can't upset them. Does anyone else feel separate from their wife and kids or even brothers and sisters and do your pets get more attention?

I can identify with you. I find myself drifting away somewhat too. It's much easier to relate to animals because of their unconditional acceptance of you. The simplest acts of kindness get repaid 100 fold. Relating to something that is not constantly judging and forming opinions of you is nice.

Totally dude

Loving someone is simply not a sufficiently good excuse for invading their personal space.
