I was just wondering if anyone else has had trouble with therapy I am applying for SSi and have seen therapist before but it rarely helped and my therapist suggested a break since were not making any progress with things she can help with me and I agreed. Do you have to get therapy to get approved for SSI?

Hi Matt. Is your therapist an ASD specialist? That would really help with the therapy. You want to feel understood amd supported. If your therapist us not an ASD specialist, you might ask him or her to refer you to one.

SSI is typically quite difficult to get. If you have worked before, then it is SSDI that you would be applying for. You can always telephone the social security office for information. They can help you know which documents to send, amd Mail you an application.

Best of luck with both endeavors!

No she is not an Asd specialist I live in a small town and there is not one qualified with that to help one that is near me.

Welcome to A.C.

Try a disability attorney. Many only take pay if you win, and (for me) their cut was negligible.

For a counselor reference, contact The Autism Society of [your state].
