Not really "news", but check out this Tumblr blog.

As you can see, a guy stole this guy's MacBook and thanks to the help of an app called Hidden he was able to take snapshots of the bandit using his laptop and took screen-shots as well. lol

On March 21, 2011, my MacBook was stolen from my apartment in Oakland, CA. I reported the crime to the police and even told them where it was, but they couldn't help me due to lack of resources. Meanwhile, I'm using the awesome app, Hidden, to capture these photos of this guy who has my MacBook.

That sounds like a great app! Is it just for Macbooks or does it work for iPhone?

Yeah, it does sound great. If someone would steal my computer I'd love to get justice on them. I used to have many thieve friends and once had one of them steal something from me; from then on I've felt differently about thieves. It never used to bug me much when my friends would steal from others, but when one of them stole from me I realized how ****** it is to have someone steal something from you. It took a lot of willpower to not hit this "friend" who stole from me.

Anyway, I'm not sure if it works for iPhones. I don't think so.

They do actually have like a similar app called "Find My iPhone" but not sure if it even captures the shots though, never tried it before and obviously you pay to even use the app I believe?
