Squirrels are cute. Chipmunks are evil. If you know, you know.
Chipmunks are cute little devils.....but they are one of the rodents that serve as a reservoir/ carrier for Lyme disease, transmitting it to new ticks. They also carry a lot of other pathogens, similar to mice. Very dangerous! They also destroy veggie gardens and cause a lot of structural destruction if they take up residence in your home.

and the flying squirrel. One of these (maybe not species pictures) got into my house, several years ago. Woke my wife and me up, and my dog was chasing it. So it ran up my wife's leg under her bathrobe. I don't think I've ever heard her scream so loud! So I trapped it eventually under a towel and let it back outside.
