My therapist wants me to tackle my anger issues in a unique way: while she recognizes that I am a gamer, she wants me to find games that don't feature so much aggression. That's when it hit me: Text adventures! You're doing something you love and training your brain at the same time, what with the reading.

I have been absolutely loving the Zork trilogy as well as the Enchanter series.

Look up The Golden Wombat of Destiny. It's a pain getting out of the Mangrove Swamp and the reference to Shakespeare went over my head in one of the clues, but I liked it. If you make a wrong move it gives sarcastic responses.

I've never been able to complete The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. I get stuck wandering around the Heart of Gold.

Point and click games can be good too. They're the modern version of text adventures. I really like Amanita Design's games. Machinarium is my favourite. I'm still to play Creaks.
