telling to an NT about having Autism spectrum without shock it

So I am finding out. This whole thread is making me really sad because I didn't realize that the consensus was "don't tell anyone". I mean, it makes sense why when you see these stories, but it's so lame that people won't even bother to try for people that they claim to care about.

Your friend might be a little on the squirrely side, I’m guessing. I can’t imagine why someone would go into shock because a friend told him he’s autistic. How long have you known this cream puff? I’d be nervous about future contact with him, lest something I say make his hair turn white overnight.

That`s a good point, exactly what is the problem? He didn`t tell him he had killed 100 people, he told him he is autistic. It`s not something to be upset about.

Exactly. You’d think the OP had confessed to being a pedophile or something.

I think I would have laughed if I told someone and their reaction was running away screaming. I have autism. " Oh my God! Get away from me, AAAAAAAAAAH!!!"

:) lol

Me, too. The guy’s response is also quite bigoted. Suddenly the OP is an untouchable monstrosity? I’d ditch a “friend” like that.
