South Carolina Talk on growth on autism

COLUMBIA, S.C. ? Understanding the growth of autism is the focus of an annual sociology lecture to be delivered in Columbia.

Autism scholar Peter Bearman of Columbia University is scheduled to deliver the talk Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. in Sloan College on the University of South Carolina campus. The talk is free and open to the public.

Bearman is slated to explore social factors behind autism.

Bearman is the Cole professor of social science at Columbia. He was given the National Institutes of Health's Director's Pioneer Award in 2007.
