Something part of my life to this day I still love

Something part of my life to this day I still love are my dreadlocks. I get told that I need to get rid of them and tell them no. I was about 23 years old 2 months after I gave birth to my 2nd daughter I got them done. A good friend of mine, Shanice did them and told me she does them to white women too. Told her I wanted to have them done and did them next day after we talked about them. I admit it took a few hours to have them done and I was patient through it. She had the mirror covered up so I could not see what was going on. Finally Shanice had me close my eyes and pulled the towel off she had over the mirror. Then said I could open my eyes and see the results looking in the mirror. I was excited seeing the results and told her never getting rid of them. Went to show my parents and could not recognize me at first, they said I looked good with them. My brothers said they were cool. I knew they were for me. My current boyfriend loves them and I do let him touch them. I do maintain them well which is easy to do and doing my hair in the morning takes 5 minutes. Wash them once a week too.
