Societies Done it Again

Umm, to use autism as a descriptor in this manner shows that this researcher was more interested in generating buzz rather than actually describing the research and findings. Just more tabloid research.

Up a frogs **** down a coalmine. My favorite hungarian saying.

If I were to work on an assumption that if I "don't use it, I lose it" when practising cognitive skills, mainly memory (remember the formula for a maths sequence for example) then I'm guessing over a period of time the same can happen with some social skills?

I'm not stating I like the term "virtual Autism" but I think I can understand the point they're trying to make.

I think they mean dementia, I think they are scared of losing their memory and what's called classic autism frightens them.

Autism is all the rage these days but this too shall pass. Just like in 2003 every kid was on Ritalin for ADD. It's just trying create buzz.

It's true. Autism is the glam disability at the moment. Trouble is the fad turns the condition into an insult.
