What is a Social Story?
By Pathfinders for Autism

A Social Story (TM) is a short narrative, written about a situation, a skill or a concept that is designed to help someone understand the scripts and social expectations of that situation. Social Stories (TM) created by Carol Gray (www.thegraycenter.org) are often helpful to children of all ages and adults with autism spectrum disorders. Social Stories may be written by parents, caregivers, therapists, friends, or anyone who wishes to make the individual more comfortable and functional in a given situation. Social Stories(TM) are created using specific criteria which can be found on the Carol Gray website or in her books and videos. Once you understand the concepts for writing Social Stories, they can by customized to the interests and abilities of the individual by using appropriate vocabulary and pictures.

Think that this might help some people on the site, consider writing a few about daily challenges such as grocery shopping, doctor's visits, dentist visits, vacations, job interviews and college.

Perhaps posting them here, might help others to know what to expect.

I used to write those for kids at work, quite often to guide the girls through beginning their periods, and to guide the boys through not kicking the crap out of each other!
