Social Media

What other Social Media platforms do you use?
Do you talk about or mention that you have Autism on said Social Media platforms?

The only one I have mentioned ASD on is my private Twitter. I don't speak of it on any of my professional accounts, not yet but soon it will be there too, even though the majority of those posts are done by my media and PR people. Only one or two here and there, if a big event happens with someone I am associated with or, there is an awards event coming up do I post on the professional accounts personally.

I'll let my media manager do the follows, likes and retweets, sharing, etc... The "OMG, love you, please follow me." crap gets old fast and, that's 99% of what people post on my professional timelines. the other 1% is up and coming musicians that think getting my follow will help their careers, or hoping I'll follow so they can PM me for advice. I do try to give them a bit of guidance and, a shoutout when I can.

I only have Facebook. I don't talk about having autism a lot on there; I think I did once. But I don't use it a whole lot.

Facebook and LinkedIn only. I have never mentioned Aspergers and probably won't, unless I have some major life restructuring or career change.

I was on a social media platform targetting furries, and I mentioned I was autistic, and I got a lot of positive responses. But it's gone down now, and I won't touch anything else. Maybe if I found another furry site, but I have no use for mainstream social media. None. Facebook is the absolute worst, and there's nothing else I really know how to use. So it's either forums or art sites. Also, I blog on wordpress, but that is it.

Furry site? (I don't need to know) That is probably why I only use milquetoast sites like Facebook and LinkedIn, I don't stray too far while on the web. Afraid of what I might stumble upon.

I've got a private Twitter I use fairly often, hate Facebook, got hacked on Myspace, Linkenden and a few others pro accounts only, and I don't post personally on those, just Twitter, and rarely on my pro account even there.

I am on a couple of furry forum because one of my bandmates is a furry and, we have mutual friend on those forums. They are pretty accepting people it seems, at least to me.

I don't know what the big deal is about furries. It's just anthropomorphic animals.

I once had Facebook, twitter, linkedin, and others I have forgot about. I became alienated by them as everything felt fake and closed them all down. I now have Instagram and tumbler as I prefer how its more picture/photo based. Always had an interest in photography. Tumbler and Instagram I mostly just browse but have posted some pictures.

I have FB and LinkedIn, but I don't post about AS on there. Although I'm not "famous" or anything, within my market niche, my name is becoming somewhat well-known, and there are contracts and people who depend on my name being marketable. I would like to be able to share that info at some point, but I have to establish my professional reputation and reliability first.

Mostly yes, in fact a lot of us make it a point of pride. You do get your outliers, though, same as with everything else. Is it okay if I ask you what forum? I've been kind of hoping to find a new one.

i do have a few others but i don't really use any other than Facebook, there's a online Asperger's support group i comment on from time to time, i also use Facebook to be in contact with other member of my university's Asperger's and Autism society.

I have a Facebook account, but I don't use it very much. I don't mention Asperger's or autism. The only reason why I've kept the account is because I'm a member of a private prog rock group, and that helps me keep in touch with latest news, releases, etc. There's so much crap on FB it's unbelieveable!

I do not do Facebook or any other type of social media. The crap that is on there is disgusting. The closest I come to social media is Aspies Central and a few gun forums.
