Single And Surviving

The Penguin

Chilly Willy The Penguin
There many people want to have a good dating relationship with someone. They are so hard to find. Most of my life I tried to find someone to be in a relationship with so I can have support. However, it seems always within time my relationships fall apart. It was very hard for me to take a break from dating. After some time I got used to it. I learned I can still get by in life and enjoy myself without having a partner. If I ever find an ideal mate, it will be an added bonus. But if I never find anyone, I'm still going to enjoy my life.

That is an excellent attitude to have about it! I did not get into a serious relationship until much later in life, and at that point I had just made up my mind to enjoy being single and enjoy life. It seems that when I was seriously searching for a relationship it never materialized. I went to all kinds of social events, made myself miserable, and did not meet anyone that I could feel attracted to. Of course there were men looking for "friends with benefits" type relationships, but I just wasn't interested in that. I started to enjoy being in a relationship with myself and decided to just try for casual friendships. I think it is really important to enjoy one's own company because it makes for a healthy attitude towards others.
