Shameless passenger said autistic girl shouldn't be allowed on plane to Disneyland - but brother, 10, had amazing response

A shameless passenger told a family their autistic girl should not be allowed to fly - and the child's protective 10-year-old brother had an incredible response.

Kai Smith, from Ware, was travelling to the entertainment resort in Paris with mum Michelle and five-year-old sister Sienna during the February half term .

After the flight had landed a woman sitting in front of the family turned to Michelle to say they should never fly again. The mum claims the woman said the disabled child - referring to Sienna - would disrupt the flight for other passengers, the Hertfordshire Mercury reports.

But Kai responded by saying his sister should not be singled out because of her disability and asked the passenger, "could you imagine if I discriminated against you just because you're different?"

Since the incident Kai has been inspired to support Sienna even further by organising a large-scale bike ride after hearing his sister's school needed a new bus.

As well as autism, Sienna has a condition called idic15, meaning that she has an extra chromosome. This can cause delays in language development and motor skills.

Kai said his sister is 'very important' to him.

Mum Michelle Husband, 39, said: "I am off the scale proud of what a wonderful brother he is.

"He has always been there for her (Sienna) and is never negative towards her."

Kai's ride out will take place on Sunday, June 25. The total distance will be around 4.4 miles.

At the school there will also be music, wheelie competitions with trophies to be won and a raffle.

The ride out is supported by I Slush You, a slushie drinks company, who will also be present at the event.

Highway Cycles, which has branches in Hertford and Ware, has donated vouchers for the raffle, as well as a bicycle and Toys 'R' Us has donated toys.

Kai has set up a Just Giving page where generous people have already helped him to reach his £200 target.

Yet what Kai would love most is to raise £500 for his sister Sienna and the fund for the new school bus.

He said he hopes to raise "all the money in the world".

well done kai,you are an amazing brother and i wish you success with your life, i also hope you have success to sienna;you dont deserve to be treated like a nuisance like that, arrogant stuck up woman.

if you were to say that sienna made some noise, then what about all those blubbering stag/hen night groups and drunken people [despite it being illegal to be drunk on a plane or something to that degree] creating havock for people or babies crying or people chatting constantly? im sure there were plenty of all of those on the plane- why not get uppity and complain about them? but i guess theyre not an easy target like a young autistic girl.
id rather have sienna sitting next to me than that awful woman ANY DAY and im super duper sensory sensitive.

i hope she sees this story on the internet and it makes her grow up.

I like your new pic of Mr. Shadow. He seems very sweet:)

@Joel's Hear Are you gonna do something with that beetle?
Hopeless Aspie! The beetle I found outside and brought it inside to show my son and wife. I let it crawl on my neck, and then placed it on the table for the photo. I offered it to my wife, who is scared more of bugs because of her extremely bad sight than being female, and after my son's description of it's gargantuan size (this rhino beetle was just over two inches long and one wide), she panicked.

Me and my son took it outside and put it on the ground, and it flew off, hit the ELECTRIC FENCE, but miraculously survived ( after hitting the ground pretty fiercely).

It slowly walked off, not daring to fly again til later.
