sensitivity to over the counter medications

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone finds they feel really bizarre/almost intoxicated or high over common medication?
I've have a bad cold the last week and my mom gave me some night time sinus relief pills with an antihistamine and I feel so awful right now. It's as if I'm drunk or something.
I notice that many over the counter medication will affect me like this. It's as if I've taken too much(I didn't, I followed the box).

I've heard folks with ASD can be sensitive like this, I was wondering if anyone has had similar reactions?

Sure.
When I used tylenol or ibuprofen for cramps, sometimes
I actually did walk into the edge of a wall or doorway.
And my head felt like it was mushing/floating away.

The stuff for vertigo/water in my ears was really rough.
It put me to sleep for 20 minutes after a dose.
Then I'd wake up in a black rage, feeling like I could smash things
with a crow bar. That was a prescription, though. Had to cut
the stuff into 6 pieces to get an appropriate amount for me.

Night time sinus relief with antihistamine is quite a concoction.
The left over effect in the daytime would be sickening to me.

Actually, a lot of people have symptoms like you did with histamine drugs like Benadryl. You can just cut down the dose or there are other sinus medicines that won't make you drowsy - some over the counter or by prescription.

Yes, long ago I found out I cannot tolerate most otc or any other medicines, and I can't eat food that has msg in it. One espresso will fuel hours of work. I've always been sensitive, (or easily poisoned).
