Symptoms of Selficide1
Selficide is described as “a state of being stuck, unable to learn and grow from life’s experiences.” Symptoms of selficide include: feelings of boredom, not enjoying much of anything, being out of touch with self, having no satisfaction in living, in the world, or in anything in it. A selficider is a stagnator.
Change your selficide feelings into feelings of contentment and pleasure.
When we’re happy, we walk. When we are unhappy, we regress, we go back to crawling. We react in old, unhappy ways instead of responding in new ways because we let our mood be our motivator.
We can end selficide and stagnation by being willing to dismiss the old ways of doing and to respond in new ways that express wants instead of shoulds, hopes rather than regrets.
The world will not change in and of itself, but a change within one’s personal self is the precursor for change in the world.
Affirmation: I dismiss my old ways of doing things and I respond to life in new, positive, and more satisfying ways.
