Hey guys :)

I thought I'd set this up for anyone who feels like they're in a bit of a rut at the moment, and don't know what to do with themselves. There are times we feel we want to find some sort of purpose in our lives, and we're not quite sure where to start; and the prospect of seeking help, or information may seem beyond us.

This may not be for everyone, but for those of you who crave knowledge, or are hoping to spark some kind of passion, these are great resources you can try. I've listed a few places that offer free education online. Many of these are a great way to expose ourselves to various possibilities, and to see if you could be interested in a particular field of interest. Many of the online tutorials are in video format too; for those who learn better through visual stimulation. The best part is, there's no commitment; you learn as you please.

While these classes may not provide us with the certificates or degrees a paid university offers, it's a stepping stone, and you may even find that some information you pick up can assist you in finding direction.

I'm currently using Codecademy. Great resource. I finished JavaScript yesterday. I'm going to go through all the courses on there. I recommend Codecademy!

I can recommend Open University Australia, I started a comms degree with them a few years ago when we were living in the UAE. I ended up stopping my study because I got a job in a magazine, but while I was doing it it was grand.

I'm glad you got a job with a magazine!

So was I at the time, but by the end of it my brain was fried and I was pretty sure the 'mask' I used at work was seeping into the rest of my life. That and the excessive drinking at publishing events wasn't doing much for my liver, ha!

Back in the day [2001+] there were free courses at Barnes and Noble University [I think they are gone] Fathom.com and Bloomberger.com. Today I believe there are not as many free online courses.
