Rotten Tomatoes Deletes Captain Marvel User Reviews...

I'm a woman who believes in equal rights and opportunities.....

That being said, I cringe whenever I watch a movie with a feminist subplot. Or when I suspect a movie is just 150 minutes of SJW propaganda/ feel sorry for me fluff.

I want to see a good, fun movie and not be told how to think.

Also, I feel sorry for men, especially with all the Gillette nonsense.

Please don't hate!!

I think you'll like this thread I posted some time back on the forum (be aware that it's in the politics section):
The Attack on Femininity in Fiction: Masculine Women and Disempowered Men

I cringe whenever I watch a movie with a feminist subplot

Well honestly , I wouldnt even mind if a character has a feminist backstory, but they have to make it real...

I mean the only developpement that she get is litteraly that " some guys made fun of her", realy what a terrible history...I mean this is so unreal and unrelatable.

Make her actually a victim in her past, something...women being victim of abuse is part of my personnal history, I know stories from my family, from friends, it does exist, but they take on such a superficial level "dont call me young lady" level...

Steve roger is beat down and rejected because of his physics that doesnt align with the standart of "being a man", he is used as a test subject, and even after that no one give him any credit but he prooves his worth...
This movie could have gone the same route, but no we see nothing when it comes to "what makes her a hero"

Here she just looks like any SJW, a privileged spoiled brat that endured nothing particular, but want to claim that they deserve a special treatement...

When you take time to think about the plot of the story, its amazing how they recreate their own flaws in their story without even realizing it...

They claim that men looked down at her, but throught all the story she manages to stay alive and keep going only because the man in charge of the situation let her live( in a way that make no sence in addition). She is like a kid pretending to be strong and everyone around let her pretend it in order to not hurt her feelings.

This is the problem when you want to make a political movie but then realize you are employed by disney, all you have left are some references ( earth is a "shithole") to recent political controversy that no one cares about and jokes...so it falls flat.

that the current Audience Score is 53%

The score is now around 60%, its funny that the number increases while the number of people who see the movie decreases hehe, its like, 200% of the latest viewers of the movie gave a good score xD

Some people also pointed out that the good rating from the audience is full of copy pasted messages. xD They are crazy !

There's even a rumour that Disney themselves are buying tickets for the movie because it needs $750 million just to break even.

We have the same sources, I dont know how it would work realy, and I am a bit sceptical about this particular story.
But maybe they own holdings or some side societies that they invest in to do shady things like that and then they use that to reduce their taxes, I dont know...

I was so much hyped to see end game and this movie ruined my anticipation for the conclusion of this story, sad :(

Not surprising if true. You see a similar dynamic occur on Wall Street when corporations elect to buy their own stock. In earlier times it used to be indicative of financial strength noted on a balance sheet. Nowadays all too many businesses elect to do this only to provide an appearance of financial strength just to rally new investors.

Often quite costly, but also often quite effective.

And how about Mary Poppins Returns being a socialist propaganda film rife with freemason symbols?

Albeit a good film with heartwarming scenes, but Hollywood isn't even trying to hide their bias anymore.

Well I realy dont know about Mary poppins, but what I know is that this is not just about the movie itself, when the leading role of the movie is making controversial political statement, and is backed up by the entiere team behind this movie, it creates more attention to the message of the story and this is where the problem starts.

A good movie often have a politcal/moral stance on life, it's a general statement than anyone can agree , or sometime it's more sided than usual.

The problem is, the writers of a movie hide messages in their movie willingly, and this is normal, and you discover the message yourself, discovering the "hidden"( or not so hidden) , message of the story is part of the enjoyement of viewing experience in my opinion.
And the story should make you understand the message wether you agree or not, and when it is done best, your interpretation of the message changes according to your own values, and this is when a movie is great because every one can find meaning in it.

For instance, I had absolutly no issue when I saw Alita kick Zaphan 's butt, he is like the typical guy who brag about how good he is, the "toxic masculinity" if you want.

But the story makes it more believable ( even if they are all cyborgs) , and you dont know before going into the theater that this movie has any politcal message in it. And at this point of the movie you are totally on board with the character, she doesnt do that in the first 5 minutes of the movie (unlike capt marvel)

But other movies, the "entertainement movies marketed as politcal" Make it the other way around , they tell you beforehand what message precisely you should find there, and you might not agree with that, you have no room for your own understanding of the work, it reduces your enjoyement.

In addition, as you know what the movie will be about, you become more critical , and you realize that the content of the movie is realy miles away from the marketing of the movie. And everything that doesnt align with the message stated before feels like bad writting. ( for instance the fact that captain marvel made it out alive because when she faces danger a man acts out of character and shows mercy to her)

So realy to enjoy this type of movie you need to either be completely unaware of the message, or be totally ok with its message, that reduces the part of the audience that can like the movie.
