I saw this morning that director Roger Corman passed away. He was, at least, 98 and had a full life, making over 400 films. Still, it is sad. I used to watch his movies. a lot. I especially love X: the Man With the X-Ray Eyes; Bloody Mama; The Trip; his Edgar Allan Poe adaptations; The Wild Angels; The Young Racers; Gas-s-s-s; The Last Woman on Earth; and A Bucket of Blood. People note his high productivity and cheap filmmaking, but he made some truly good movies. He also helped start the careers of many more famous people, such as Francis Ford Coppola, Scorsese, Robert DeNiro, Peter Fonda, Dennis Hopper, and Jack Nicholson.
