Riddles

They are both things that would naturally be thought of as being where something lived rather than merely being something where something would live but people don't typically think about that way.

Ok, I have no idea of the answer based on the info so far, so it is up to you whether to wait for any other replies, give the answer, etc.

Some examples:

Print-er:

Printer tells paper how many copies to spit out, Ink lives in print, patients live in ER

Home-page:

Homepage can tell others to do something, people live in home, words live on page

Net-work

A network can give automation orders, fish temporarily live in net, people can live at their work

No on all accounts. I never often thought of things like ink being alive to live somewhere.🤔
A net is a trap for fish ; not much of a home.

If you think of live as alive, then you are right. I often think of live in a more casual way, like being a home to something even if that thing is not alive. Also, "Ink" could be made into a fictional live character name to be used in print and other mediums. I was not thinking about ink though to be thought of in that way at the time I made that post..

The answer is Web Shell.
I.never would have got it, as tech stuff like that I would be clueless to even think about and as I never heard that term before. I was looking for compound words as well, to divide. I did not know it was a two word answer. Anyway, good job, your turn again, whenever you are ready.

A tree is what I be.
It sounds almost like I've left when you speak of me
Even when I am there plain to see.
What am I?
