Riddles

See if I can make something up that lasts more than two guesses this time - gimme an hour or so...
 
Hmmm, bit weak but give this a try ...

I'm head and shoulders above the bottom,
But let's face it I'm not deep at all.
You may well find me in your pocket,
I could be in your hall.
I'm old and I'm new and all inbetween,
I'm painted and printed and more.
I used to be just for the rich,
But as well now I'm owned by the poor.

Not bad, but won't fit all the lines. It's my usual unimaginative literalness. Each line should somehow fit correctly, and in this case all lines have the same answer (not simply the same word with different meanings), and most more literal than abstract.
 
A hole. (It is likely not the answer either, as it does not seem to satisfy all individual lines.)
 
OK, since I'm infected with incurable impotence impatience, here's a freeby ...
@FayetheAspie's guess would actually fit the original riddle. It fits each line.

Think of picture in your head,
Then reread what you first read.
 
Most of it makes me think of a coin but I think a couple of the clues don't fit.🤔
 
Something to do with a bill, like a dollar bill, as head and shoulders are on those, and other bills we pay, to satisfy any other line.
