Remember the TECH term 'Plug and Play?'

With the aggravation of spending too much of our time in getting TECH. to operate correctly, the term 'Plug and Play' increasingly means 'Plug and Pray' and 'Plug and....Pay!'

I associate it with those bargain bin game things that come with a small number of games pre-installed and are sometimes just a controller with flash storage and basic hardware.

I'm very thankful that I don't have this dilemma frequently, but I've been known to go on scavenger hunts for drivers that last quite a while before I finally figure out the exact thing I need. Usually this is when dealing with really obscure components and things I got cheaper than most because I used Aliexpress or something, which in that case I'm accepting said scavenger hunt as part of the 'saving a few dollars' game.

In my experience, though, dealing with better companies with more voodoo and resources under their belt leads to drivers and things being more 'direct links' and less 'broken google drive' territory :D. But I don't always have that kind of money, so I have to accept my fate sometimes!

I stick with the older TECH. e.g., Windows 7 Professional' to curb the 'plug and pray' AND 'plug and pay' dilemmas.
