Receiving additional support at college

It's a relief for me to be entitled for extra help with my written work at college and to be given coping mechanisms with anxiety. I handed in a letter from my doctor listing my diagnosis from 1995 to say I do need the additional support.

Only recently I have understood my condition and last year at college I wasn't sure what really was 'wrong' with me. I went through a dyslexia test as well and passed that. Always wondered I may be dyslexic, but I'm not.

My family never really discussed in depth about my difficulties. Just grew up knowing I had 'learning difficulties' that was all. So I googled 'Semantic Pragmatic Disorder' which was my diagnoses and found out it was on the autistic spectrum. It was a huge shock but everything made so much sense. Not just academically, but socially and taking things literally etc etc etc. Now I understand myself a whole lot better and life is much more manageable knowing more about my condition. (Same as high functioning autism)

My learning disability assessment allow me to get extra support for college. It also allow me to get extra support for the business program I will be taking next week.

I have trouble with scan-tron style tests. The ones with a booklet and then a separate answer slip. Going back and forth, I lose track visually of where I am.
