Please release me from this friendship...

I didn't feel bad at all when I walked away from this girl who I THOUGHT was my friend. She was a total b word. At first, she was nice, but then it was like "my boyfriend this, my boyfriend that, don't touch my boyfriend". Then she never sat with me at lunch. She was always up talking to someone. She didn't even like animals, either. She lied when we first met. Some days, it's "don't talk to me I'm mad today". The last time she did that after a while of not seeing her, I was like "Fine!" And i walked away. Bye!

A bit after that, I made a new friend after that, a better friend, a true friend. We hang out, both love animals and cartoons, and contact each other. She's like another me. We still chat through fb messenger to this day! She sends me funny links mostly, but we talk and laugh about them.

Think it's a healthier me to walk away and say hey, it's time to move on. l am more like other posters at this site, making friends sometimes isn't good. I know a couple of neat people, it's time to just chill.

I don't even talk now to her and l am still worried. l do feel less stressed since disconnecting. Working on keeping low stress levels now.

Let her go. You're not responsible for her life. She is. You did the best you could for her, now take care of yourself.

Sounds like you're asking if your reasons to dump her are good enough. Some, such as her, may not feel that you have to agree with one's lifestyle choices to be their friend, but your opinion may differ. If you're into last ditch attempts, try providing her with (non-judgmental) evidence that she's on the spectrum.

Self-knowledge saved me, and many others here. You can think of it as a farewell gift. There's no need to feel bad.

I try not to judge lifestyles, but if your choices are clearly illegal and unsafe, l am nervous to be around you.

Just my .02 to add; Most aspies that I know are experts at ending relationships with friends, family, spouses, etc. and never looking back.
