People changing your life against your will and saying it's "just for now"

I LOATHE THIS WITH EVERY FIBER OF MY BEING.

There are two reasons why I posted this.

One is because an episode of NCIS LA reminded me of it; my mother loves this show and sometimes I watch it with her. I never saw the whole episode and I can't remember the name of it, but I remember how it begins;

A woman wakes up in a mental/behavioral hospital, already dressed in medical robes, and with no memory of how she got there, or why. She just so happens to be in an isolation room, where on the other side is a doctor, acting friendly enough to her. It's obvious the woman is not mentally sick, as she displays no sort of mental cripple of any kind; when confronted about why she is there, the doctor replies saying it is "not safe" where she was and she was "dangerous".

The woman demands that she be taken home immediately, as she has no business being there.

The doctor assures her that she will go home eventually....but "for now" she needs to stay there. Can you guess which one is actually messed up?

Another reason I posted this is because the same kind of thing has happened to me before and what I've noticed is that "eventually" never comes and "for now" actually means "permanently".

I know this because this came from doctors, teachers, other people who weren't my parents trying to step into my life and change it however they wanted to.

This is wrong.

These people didn't have any business changing anything about my life.

One particular moment I remember this happened is when I got my computer fixed at my uncle's house, and they got a new ISP, but my aunt Dorothy said I couldn't use it. When I protested, she said it was "just for now". I knew what she really meant.

When these people tell you these things, it's a distraction. They are giving you a false sense of hope and security so you will let your guard down and let them do what THEY want with your life. I put my foot down with it the last time I was in a behavioral hospital. I was there because of a misunderstanding between me and my stepfather, who thought I had purposely pushed my sister down too hard outside; when I was sent there I was able to tell them what REALLY happened, but they wouldn't believe me, and they recommended that I stay away from my little sister.

I assured them and I assure you people that I have never nor WILL I ever do anything to harm Sophia in my life.

It just goes to show, there's no harm in putting your foot down. Don't let people walk all over you. They will tell you it's for the best, but don't you know yourself better than anyone else?

Agreed.

Manipulative people are evil. There are no excuses for enslaving the autonomy of another person. It's selfish for others to both get their own way, and force you to do things their way. Everyone should rule themselves, and stop there.
