I follow this topic closely. We do have the technology right now. It would be relatively "primitive"... maybe a bit dangerous, at times, but yes.

That said, that tech is on a truly rapid exponential curve of advancement. What we will have in 2026 and 2028 and 2030 will seem like sci-fi as compared to 2025. We are living in some amazing times with regards to all of this.

"One of these days, Alice" is a tag line from a 1950s American sitcom. I've never seen the show but sometimes heard the phrase when I was growing up.

Outdated is right, it is from The Honeymooners and it was the constant threat of Ralph Cramden to his wife whenever she called him out on something. A threat that was never acted upon.

As for colonizing the moon, I recently read a startup is selling vacation spots within 10 years and they are selling them at 10 million a pop. Not sure that anyone who has that much money to wist in such a frivolous manner would be fit enough to survive for any length of time.
