The dragonflies appeared after the peepers arrived. The dragonflies fill the backyard with tiny, dancing flecks of light while the peepers sing their night song.
 
I miss hearing the spring peepers.
It's too late in the year for them now.
I like to open the front door to hear them,
before I go to bed.
 
The peepers are done peeping
and now it’s as if they are sleeping
all the way to next year.
