New York Times article about 'Siri'

Check out an article in today's NYTimes titled 'to Siri, with love'.
Concerns a young autistic boy's affair and learning experiences with Apple's Siri.

My husband's cousin let us goof off with his Siri once. We asked her all sorts of weird questions trying to get her to confirm she is a machine. Or at least female. She's a mysterious one...

Gus sounds adorable! Admittedly, I develop a bit of an emotional attachment to the characters of games I play. I always marry the blacksmith on Fable III.

I find the article disturbing and sad. My husband, who's not on the spectrum, said he wanted to watch the movie "Her"... I said I didn't and that I couldn't understand why people want to watch it. To me it seems like an acceptance of life in an imaginary world, but of course, don't we all live in an imaginary world? I may be somehow different from other people I know, due to whatever. .. I sense human, animal and plant "energy", machines don't have that therefore I don't want to establish a connection with something that doesn't have this "live energy" ... but it quite possible that one day they will... as for myself... I might be just as confused as everybody else, just in a different way...

It is a bit sad that a phone has more patience for him than other people and is the only thing he's been able to connect with. =(
