New to the forum

Hello. I'm a 34 year old American female who was recently diagnosed with Asperger's. I guess technically it's now high functioning autism, but I like the name Asperger's better. I'm a college graduate but I'm currently unemployed. I live at home with my parents which drives crazy. I have lived on my own before. In fact I moved to London in my early to mid 20's. I guess I'm just looking for some people to talk to. I don't have many close friends and I definitely don't know anyone else like me except my therapist. I'm lucky that I found a female psychologist who is also an Aspie.

Hi HeadOverHills. I just joined the forum yesterday because I just found out I have Aspergers. I am 33, I live in the UK (not far from London!). I'm glad you've found a good psychologist that understands. It's hard to make people understand how you feel isn't it.

Welcome :)

That is rather lucky that you were able to find a female psychologist on the spectrum. What a find.

A fair few of us will be able to relate well with you. I hope you find our community to be helpful, and friendly. I've added a few links below, which you may find helpful.

Welcome Headoverhills

I just know that you will benefit from being here, because I am fairly new and unofficially Aspergers and hope to soonish, get an official diagnosis ( because people seem to take the word of those, who prove untrustworthy, but because they have a name, their word is gospel).

You will not regret joining!
