I bought a weighted blanket about a year ago b/c I have major insomnia issues. It has helped on some occasions, but not very frequently. I seem to have quite a severe case of insomnia though. It does calm me down to a certain degree. It may work for you or it may not. But it is a relatively low cost investment to potentially solve a serious problem.

Hi Kathy :)

welcome to af.webp

Welcome Kathy! :) I have tried one before since the period of trying to fall asleep is the one I dread and hate most every day. It didn't seem to be much help to me because I have always been extremely restless and felt the need to move around and it makes that hard, however, I think the idea behind it makes sense and could be helpful to someone else potentially.

Welcome Kathy!

I also have trouble sleeping. I take a prescribed sleep aid, and it helps, but I'm still a restless sleeper.

I've never had a weighted blanket, but I did try a "Thunder Shirt" for my dog. It's based on the same principle. It helped a little bit, but it didn't outweigh the frustration of getting him in the thing.
