Chances are when Buford Hollis decided to take inspiration from the humble farmyard animal he’d had a few too many brandies. Why else would you think dressing up as a pig and fighting crime would be a good idea? Why Hollis? Why? Oh and did we mention his superpower was the ability to drive any vehicle? Seriously, Hollis. Even Truckman’s a winner when compared with Razorback.

Nachzehrer (German Mythology)

In a century where centuries-old vampires have teenage angst and bloodlust in the mix of all their problems, it’s nice to have a refreshing change to the vampire family – the Nachzehrer. Some kind of bizarre mix of ghoul and vampire, the Nachzehrer is a soul-sucking monster that is native to the northern regions of Germany (yet another place to cross off your travel list) who rises from the grave to devour his or her own kin.

The Nachzehrer can also kill you by ringing church bells that bring death to all who hear them and by making you come in contact with its shadow. Now that sounds more frightening than glittering teenagers.
 
The Sigbin is a creature in Philipine mythology said to come out at night to suck the blood of victims from their shadows. It walks backwards with its head lowered between its hind legs, and can become invisible to other creatures, especially humans. It resembles a hornless goat, but has very large ears which it can clap like a pair of hands and a long, flexible tail that can be used as a whip. The Sigbin is said to emit a nauseating odor.

During Holy Week it looks for children to kill for their hearts, which it fashions into amulets.

Onibi are the spirits born from the corpses of humans and animals, said to be resentful people that have become fire. Sometimes the words 'will-of-the-wisp' is translated into Japanese as Onibi.
