Hello everyone. My name is Goobz. I'm not really sure what my diagnosis would fall under according to the diagnosis status selection, but I was diagnosed with level 1 ASD about 2 years ago. I'm aware this has been the "catch-all" term to identify autism in a medical context since the DSM-5's publishing in 2013, but I'm not sure whether that'd mean I'm high-functioning or just have Asperger's.

The one thing I know for sure is that I've come to identify a lot with the experiences others on the spectrum have endured. Compulsory education after elementary school was a pretty rough time for me, so it wasn't long before I was first diagnosed with a generalized anxiety disorder and a mild depressive disorder. I initially suspected these to be the reason for my poor mental health, but I'm inclined to believe I was misdiagnosed in retrospect.

Of course this was only the case until 2 years ago. It was truly a critical moment to learn that autism had been the root cause of my inner machinations' abnormality. With there being no specific medication to treat it, I figured my only option was to help myself, so I started self-medicating with cannabis. Since then, my life has drastically improved in a myriad of ways. I've regained interest in old hobbies of mine, been significantly less irritable, and my chronic sleep problems have finally come to an end.

As you may have gathered from my avatar, I'm also a fan of otaku culture and consider myself to be one.

I really didn't think forums like this existed online, but I'm glad to have found this one. I hope I can find a lot more like-minded people here than I can on social media or real-life LOL.

I see. Well for more information, I'm currently 19 and living with my parents while attending college. They manage some of my expenses as of right now, but I'm slowly learning financial independence.

Check out Dave Ramsey.

Tons of free information regarding ways to keep yourself out of trouble with money, how to budget, and how to become wealthy. No b.s. Just math and a grumpy old man telling you how to avoid spending what you don’t have.

He’s got an extensive YouTube channel, all for free. And he’s been bankrupt, so he speaks from experience.
