My day...

I was out for a photo walk downtown with a friend and we decided to grab a coffee.

A man approached my friend complimenting him on his hat and they chatted briefly, the more I looked at him I thought he looked familiar. He then told me that I had photographed him four years ago at some event.

Anyway, as we talked I somehow brought up Asperger's and his eyes lit up, it turns out he has been diagnosed with it, I believe he has an AQ of 42, it was an interesting conversation.

He is quite successful in life as a sociology professor in our local university, which is I think how the topic came up, sociology being the study of humans interact with each other. Apparently his special interest within the study of sociology is in coffee shop culture and the interaction within that.

We also shared some struggles we both have.

sherlock, i can totally relate.
i like it when i meet people in the community who also have ASD or ID,the last ASD person i met was an aspie at a non related support group meeting and he was awesome, but i forgot to ask for his email address [told him about AC though],its great having a fellow spectrumer giving their experiences of the problem from their perception as you have someone you can relate to,but he hasnt come back yet to the group and i still wait for him to join AC.
