Most Shocking News Story You've Seen

WARNING this is shocking and may upset some people (not sure how to put spoilers)


For me the most shocking story I ever heard from a news channel was a documentary on the DW (Deutsche Welle) site, about the customs of an idolated village in Laos. In this village they supposedly commit infanticide and kill newborn twin babies. The mother is sent away to a hut on her own and may only return when the deed is done. Only twins. Murder. It's horrific beyond belief that this could be allowed to happen in this day and age.
 
It's hard to pick just one story. Although 9/11 is a pretty good choice.
And a certain unnamed president being elected in 2016.
And the incel terrorist attack in Toronto.
School shootings in the US don't really shock me anymore. They just leave me feeling even more bitter and cynical.
