Hi everyone, I am hoping to connect with other parents, some days are difficult. My son is treated differently than his cousins by his Grandparents. My heart breaks for him.:(

Hi. Same here. Father of 16 yr old.

My son is treated differently than his cousins by his Grandparents. My heart breaks for him.:(

For some it breaks their hearts to see this. For others, it turns stone cold.

For all, we'll see the world through a different pair of eyes than we would've otherwise.

Hi, welcome to the forum! My eldest daughter is fifteen and has been diagnosed with ASD, as have I. Some days are indeed difficult, very difficult even, so you’re certainly not alone with that.

I’m sorry to hear your son is treated differently by his grandparents, that is sad I agree. I presume they know he’s on the spectrum, so is their ignorance about that the reason he’s treated differently, or is it perhaps a behavioural issue that they struggle with or don’t understand?

This is a great place, and I hope you connect with people that can offer you support, advice and friendship. :-)
