Memory of school : The trial of the dictation !

Ok its maybe an over dramatic title BUT when I was younger dictation was realy the thing I hated the most at school.

And I have the memories about that now, well not precise memories, but, I am thinking about the issues I had and I am wondering if it may be related to ASD or ADHD?

Basicaly getting all the words was hard for me , I always felt it was a race and I was seconds late.
To some degree I guess it made me practice my short term memory a little because I know that sometimes I was like an entiere sentence late kek.

The funniest in my opinion is that I always write the first word that comes in my mind, and ofc it is different depending on the langage, but I know that during dictation ( and even now when I write or post something here.) I had a tendency to write the wrong word that didnt make any sence in that sentence but sounded the same as what the teacher was dictating.

I managed to get better because my mother made me work on that on my free time a LOOOT and she struggled to get me focused on it xD, funny memories !

Did you experience specific issues related to dictation and in your opinion were they related to something specific like ASD?

I didn't have dictation at school except for French, and I remember that I didn't like it because I found it hard. French spelling is tricky.
