Massage chairs and kids

Does anyone have experience with one of the back massage chair inserts that sit on top of a chair instead of being built into it and dealing with kids? Last time we visited bed bath and beyond and didn't have time to hang out at their demo back massager chairs my older son (7 years old) had a bit of a melt down and asked why if we didn't have time to use the massager at the store couldn't we just buy one and use it at home?

We don't have the space or the money for a chair with the massager built in so in theory pad that you put onto an existing chair would be appropriate. But I'd worry that my kids would destroy it by jumping on it.

I don't know whether something like that could be folded up and stored out of the way so it would be used under supervision. Since this incident at the store my kids have been borrowing my hand held back massager without supervision (there are very few places in my apartment my kids can't get into) and it is a finger pinching hazard for a youngster, so I kind of want some kind of better solution.

Anyone have experience with this kind of equipment for meeting sensory needs both of kids and adults?

Dear Owm,

from my pediatric career experience I can tell you that nothing matches a real massage from a expert massage therapiest. I have been in the industry for a while and tested dozens of massage chairs and pads but nothing comes close to a real human hand massage. Anyway when it comes to these tools is usually you get what you pay for. Good massage chair usually cost $2000+ but as u mentioned when you can not afford it this is a great alternative to it. Make sure you note that it will only do back and neck massage and is good for both kids and adults. If you prefer foot massage you better look for something else like foot roller or other electronic model.
