Oh, I'm a huge publishing nerd! I haven't been published yet, but have had my last two novels read by various agents. There's a lot of interest in the novel I'm working on now, so I'm close. It's been a long few years with lots to learn. I write middle grade paranormal (my WIP is a monster book). I'd love to shop talk! I don't have permission to view profiles, so you'll have to contact me.

I'm not sure if I can view profiles either. I've been submitting and submitting and getting the "it sounds interesting but its not suited to our needs at this time..." letters. Meanwhile, Simon and Schuster is publishing Hillary Duff's monstrosity. There is no God, I fear.

Poor Hils...that book really is awful and I already know the kidlit critics are going to tear her to shreds. Rejections stink, but I don't know anyone from my various writing groups who wasn't rejected a number of times before they sold a book. Keep on keepin' on :) It's the only way to get a yes--and write the next one, too!

I started the ball in March of this year and I bought the rubber bands from wherever I could find them really, usually from the discount shop near where I live or the news agent's. Lately though I haven't really added much to it because I've struggled to find bands that are big enough. The post office where my nan lives did sell them but I haven't seen any the last couple of times I've been up there.
Are they something that your nan or you order,or perhaps get the Postal service to order for you? Perhaps explaining that you have a project that you are working on,will result in them getting more rubber bands for you. I have seen some huge rubber bands that newspaper companies use,so maybe that is somewhere else where you could go to ask, good luck. :D

No, they just sold small boxes of fairly large bands at under ?1 each (can't remember the exact price though). I'd usually go in and pick up a few boxes at a time, but like I said, they don't always have them in stock and I haven't seen any recently, but I'll keep looking. And thanks for the advice, I suppose asking the newspaper company would be worth a try, they might very well have bands left over that they don't need. :)

I made my bed! lol

:lol2: I didn't. The cat was on it. I didn't want to disturb her.
